Transport Trophy Round 4 - 07/09/2008 The fourth round of the Transport Trophy was held at Clover lake in Rusper. This match also doubled up as the Senior One Day Cup competition. After the recent monsoon conditions the rain held off for this match, but the cooler water made fishing very hard and even noted matchmen struggled to get a bite. The fish were tightly shoaled up it certain areas and only anglers in these swims were lucky enough to catch.Paul Hearsey cleaned up on the day. He was first with 26lb 2oz using groundbait feeder baited with a maggot/corn cocktail. He was also on the 'Golden Peg' so he collected the kitty for that and the biggest fish payout for a Carp of 8lb 12ozs. In all Paul ended the day with 6 points, a trophy and £113, an excellent day out. Second place went to the in form angler, Phil Harris. Phil used alternated between long pole, feeder and his favourite 'bomb over corn' and for a 19lb 7oz total of carp. Third place went to Chris Siddall who used 10 metre pole and meat catching carp and tench for a total of 16lb 5oz The five points for second place puts Phil clear at the top of the Transport Trophy table. With one round remaining only Chris Siddall has a chance of snatching the trophy. In the Overall Club Championship Phil Harris has claimed his second Club Champion title in succession with still two rounds left to fish. The race is now on to see who can clinch the runner-up trophy. 11 Anglers - Total Weight 85lb 5oz FULL RESULT
