Transport Trophy Round 3 - 27/07/2008 Fairlights is renowned for good match weights and this match was no exception, on a blazing hot still day the carp were feeding freely.In first place was former Sussex County angler Chris Siddall. Chris fished short pole to the margins left and right, using two feet of line with no float and baiting Chum Mixer. Half way through he had to use a second keepnet to retain his catch. At the final whistle he had caught a superb 84lb 5oz of mainly carp which easily won the match. Second was Nick Ardley who is also a former Sussex County matchman. Nick favoured the same tactics as Chris fishing close in left and right and finishing with an excellent 57lb 12oz and 5 points Only a couple of pounds behind was Phil Harris, still using his favourite bait of corn. Using mainly pole or method feeder he ended with 55lb 14oz and 4 points. Phil maintains a healthy four point lead at the top of the Transport Trophy table. In the Overall Championship Phil now has a massive 11 point lead over his nearest rival. 11 Anglers - Total Weight 374lb 5oz FULL RESULT
