Jubillee Shield - 20/06/2008
The weather was kind for this match with early rain clearing, making way for a sunny
but very windy day.
For the second time in a row this lake made the anglers work for their fish. When
Steve Hill pulled peg 18 at the draw he was less than happy and didn't fancy his chances,
but as it turned out he was in a prime swim on the day. He fished Method Feeder
baiting corn for a winning 32lb total, the trophy and 6 valuable points in the Home Championship competition.
In second on peg 10 was Leigh Holman. Leigh alternated between waggler/maggot and
Method Feeder with pellet for an excellent carp bag of 11lb 12oz and 8lb 9oz of silvers
for a total of 20lb 5oz. Brett Cole came third choosing long pole and corn with 13lb
of mainly silver fish.
The Junior Founders Cup went to Leigh Holman's son Kurt. Kurt fished the waggler and
managed to catch an excellent bag of roach for 1lb 7oz. His brother Lewis was 2nd
with 6oz using the same tactics.
Phil Harris picked up two points and remains in the lead of the Overall Championship.
