Transport Trophy Round 5 - 03/09/2006 The fifth round of the transport trophy was scheduled to be fished at Borde Hill. On arrival, the lake had somehow been booked by three other teams. Several phone calls later the match was eventually moved to Slaugham. After a late start the 14 anglers settled in for some good fishing but unfortunately many failed to attract bites. Lenny Wells won the match fishing a waggler with pellet hookbait. Lenny's 53lb 8oz was enough to edge Nick Ardley into second with 46lb. Pete Sharpe finished third with a very close 45lb 12oz. Both Lenny and Pete jump into contention in the race for the Transport Trophy with most of the leading contenders failed to pick up any points. The exception was Bruce Barnett who jumped up to second place after collecting three points. With one round remaining there are still seven anglers with a mathematical chance of claiming the title. Phil Harris went into the match leading the race to become overall club champion but failed to pick up any points. The win for Lenny jumps him up into first place with Nick also climbing up to third. 14 Anglers - Total Weight 192lb 4oz FULL RESULT
