Crawley vs Slaugham (Furnace Pond - 04/07/04)

 

The weather on the day consisted of heavy rain and a cold wind more like a typical autumnal day.   Fortunately none of this put off the venue's large head of carp but the fishing did prove a bit patchy.

Lenny Wells narrowly failed to win for the second year in a row, taking 74lb 10oz from peg 5 on a method feeder using corn and maggot on the hook.

The match was won by D. Bacon fishing a bagging waggler and spraying pellet.  This combination brought a steady stream of carp throughout the match for a 87lb 8oz final weight.

Slaugham easily won the team match with 253lb to Crawley's 114lb 14oz total.
