Home Championship Round 1 - 30/05/2004

The first round of the home championship was held at Tilgate. The weather was sunny and hot but a few bream still fed mainly at either end of the lake.

Pete Sharpe won the match with 24lb 6oz, fishing a feeder on peg 35. Pete's catch consisted of all bream taken on a variety of different baits. This was good enough to take him to the top of the overall championship table.

Second was Gary Toland with 22lb 6oz from peg 21 on the wall. Gary fed heavily with groundbait at the start and then fished a feeder and maggot combination over the top, to take a steady stream of bream and the odd tench throughout the match.

Third was Barry Wheeler who included a 4lb 14oz tench in his catch.
