Crawley vs Slaugham (Furnace Pond - 01/06/03)

The weather on the day consisted of thunder, lightning and torrential rain.   Fortunately none of this put off the venue's large head of carp, with the top two weighing in the second and third highest ever weights for the venue.

Lenny Wells narrowly won the individual match, falling just short of the magic 'ton' with 98lb 14oz of carp on the method feeder and maggot combination.

A close second was Slaugham's Nigel Gardener with 96lb of carp on the pole.

Third was Phil Harris with 81lb 2oz of carp taken on a combination of short pole in the margins, and floating chum mixer later in the match.

In the team competition Crawley easily won with 315lb 2oz to Slaugham's 111lb 12oz total.
