Crawley vs Copthorne (Newpond - 19/10/03)

With a heavy frost on the coldest day so far this year there was still a good turnout.   As expected the going was hard but there were still some good weights but all came from the far side of the lake where it was warmer in the sun. 

Steve Jones won the match from peg 32 using a 13m pole and oxo sized cubes of catmeat. His catch comprised of eight carp for a 38lb 10oz total.

Kevin Minns of Copthorne favoured a groundbait feeder and double maggot fished close in to the bank. He landed 17lb 9oz of the new stock carp on peg 26.

Third was Bruce Barnett on peg 28, who took 15lb 3oz of carp fishing a pole and corn to the reed bed on his right.

In the team match Copthorne came out on top with 82lb 10oz to Crawley's 68lb 4oz.
