XMAS Competition - 22/12/2002 This year the XMAS competition was switched to the Newpond in an attempt to improve the sport for the competing anglers. An excellent turnout of 26 anglers were present on the day and everyone went away with a prize. The conditions were not ideal, with the heavy rain over the preceding week resulting in a heavily coloured lake with the water levels a foot above normal. First on the day was Steve Hill who took small carp on a red maggot and feeder combination. Fishing directly opposite, Chris Siddall employed identical tactics to take four better carp for second place. Third was Jack Sorrell who found 3 bream late on again on the feeder. 26 Anglers - Total Weight 78lb 4oz
