Crawley vs Horley (River Mole - 27/10/02) With near gale force winds and rain the number of anglers that braved the conditions was understandably lower than usual for this match, held on the swimming pool stretch of the river mole. Phil Harris started on his favourite straight bomb but after remaining biteless was forced to switch to the 12 metre pole. Managing to control the long pole in the wind he put together 4lb 13oz of roach and perch using maggot. This narrowly beat Horley's Scott Lewin who employed similar tactics for 4lb 8oz of roach and gudgeon. Third was Bruce Barnett who ran a stick float to a downstream pool for 3lb 10z of dace and roach. 5 Anglers - Total Weight 13lb 9.5oz |
