FOXBRIDGE vs CRAWLEY (Foxbridge Lake - 21/07/2002) Once again there was a waiting list for places to fish the prolific Foxbridge venue. On the day the fishing proved to patchier than normal but there was still some excellent weights recorded. Every angler fishes two matches simultaneously, one for carp and the other for silver fish. Points are awarded for the top 15 anglers in each match with the individual positions decided by the combined points total. Crawley Angler Nick Ardley took the individual honours with a combined points total of 22 out of a possible 30. Second was Ray Howell of Foxbridge with 17 points. This match was also the second round of the Transport Trophy and the third Round of the Overall Club Championship. Nick Ardley's combined total weight of 62lb 7oz was good enough for a maximum 6 points. Paul Shepherd picked up another five points to take the lead in the race for the Transport Trophy and the Overall Club Championship. Current Club Champion, Phil Harris, picked up 2 points and is now tied on points at the top of the Overall table. Simon Clark picked up three points to drop to second in the Transport Trophy competition, but remains third on the Overall Championship. In the team match Crawley won convincingly with a total combined weight of 395lb 10oz to Foxbridge's 254lb 6oz. 30 anglers - Total weight 650lb.
