Crawley vs Copthorne (Tilgate - 20/10/02) This match proved to be a grueller for most concerned with 15 of the 17 anglers blanking. The two anglers pegged where they could reach the deep water alongside Campbell's lake dam wall were the the only competitors to get a bite. Steve Turner won the match with 16lb 6oz of bream and skimmers on the feeder using pinkie on the hook. This also secured victory for the Copthorne team on the day. Leigh Holman pegged next door caught 1lb 13oz, which was enough for six points in the Home Championship. This moved him to the top of the table with Phil Harris failing to catch. In the overall Club Championship Phil now has a narrow one point lead going in to the last round. This years competition is proving to be close with six anglers still in contention for the Club Champion title. |
