CRAWLEY vs Woking (Tilgate - 26/08/2001) The home leg of the inter-club fixture against Woking was held at Tilgate. This was also the third round of the Home Championship series and the fourth round of the overall club championship. Crawley suffered a heavy defeat with the five Woking Anglers taking 43lb 10oz, whilst the sixteen Crawley rods could only amass 39lb 2oz. Top individual on the day was Rob Harvey of Woking with 23lb from peg 14. This made it a remarkable four individual victories in a row in this interclub series. Simon Clark finished second with 16lb 3oz from peg 8. The six points earned pushes him up to second spot in the Home Championship table. Lenny Wells still leads picking up five more points as the second highest finishing Crawley angler. Overall Championship leader Phil Harris failed to pick up any points on the day and drops to second behind Lenny Wells. Simon Clark jumps from seventh to third overall on total weight. |
